The Owl House Grimoire: A Fanbook of Gratitude will be centered around two themes: found family/bonds and character, journey and growth from those in the series.We're aiming for it to be available both physically and digitally, along with some merchandise. We wish for this project to be a “Thank You” to the creators and fans alike to prove how much this series means to us!Fanbook Specs:

Major Arcana Tarot Deck

It would include 22 cards.The Fool is the main character of the Major Arcana. The Fool makes a journey through each of the cards, meeting new people and learning new life lessons along the way, and eventually reaching the end of the journey. This is known as the Fool's Journey and this is a helpful way to understand the story line of the Major Arcana Tarot.

Application Guidelines

THERE WILL BE TWO THEMES YOU HAVE THE OPTION OF CONTRIBUTING TO. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU READ CAREFULLYFOUND FAMILY/BOND THEMEYou will be tasked to draw/write for a minimum of 2-3 characters in your piece. The piece created will have to focus on the bond between these characters. You will only be creating one piece in this theme. In addition, if you are assigned a single character, they must be the main focus. ✦(eg: You are assigned Eda and decide to use Lilith and Raine, Eda must remain as the focus of your piece).If you are assigned a pair or group, you do not need to add more characters.
✦(eg : You are assigned Luz and Willow, you chose to draw them having a sleepover as they laugh and have fun)CHARACTER GROWTH/JOURNEY THEMEYou will be tasked to draw or write for one character or one pair (non-romantic). This should be looked at as a kind of introspective piece, or a specific retelling of their growth and journey as a character. Be as creative or angsty as you wish! ✦(e.g: You are assigned Hunter and chose to draw him staring at his reflection in the water showing the golden guard).

✦ Make sure all your links are accessible, otherwise we won't be able to review your application and we will NOT notify if links are broken.
✦ALL samples must be SFW.

Page and Comic Artists

✦ We ask you to provide 3 examples of your best work.
✦ A fully rendered illustration featuring a complete background is suggested but not required!
✦ At least one piece featuring a TOH character is required.
✦ Traditional artwork is accepted as long as it is scanned in good quality
✦ Mods will evaluate anatomy and proportions, use of colors and light, backgrounds, and the overall atmosphere of the piece.
✦ Comic artists are required to submit examples of their comics. They will be responsible of a 2-4 page comic if accepted.
✦ Must submit an easily viewable portfolio containing at least 5 completed artwork (no sketches/wips).
✦ You have the option to apply for any of the following positions:
- Comic Artist
- Page artist + 1 Tarot card
- Page artist + 1 Merch item
- Page Artist

Merch Artists

✦ You do not need prior merch experience , we will have templates and everything needed to help you during creation period.
✦ If accepted Merch Artist are required to draw 2 items.
✦ We ask you to provide 3 artworks that you believe will be suited for merch.
✦ Samples does not need to include full backgrounds.
✦ At least one piece featuring a TOH character is required.
✦ Traditional artwork is accepted as long as it is scanned in good quality
✦ Mods will evaluate anatomy and proportions, use of colors and light, backgrounds, creativity, and the overall atmosphere of the piece.
✦ Must submit an easily viewable portfolio containing at least 5 completed artworks (no sketches/wips).
✦You have the option to apply for any of the following positions:
- 2 Merch items + 1 Tarot card
- 2 Merch items
- 2 Tarot cards

Writers

✦ We ask you to provide 3 examples of your best work.
✦ The word count must be between 1k and 2.5k for each fic submitted.
✦ At least one of your samples should be a complete and standalone piece. Your other samples can be an excerpt of a longer fic.
✦ At least one sample featuring TOH characters is required.
✦ We are looking for solid grammar, good characterization and a strong understanding of creative narrative and flow.

What kind of content will be in the fanbook?
This fanbook is centered around growth and the bonds between characters of The Owl House.Will the fanbook be for charity or profit?
This will be 100% for Charity.Will the fanbook be physical or digital?
The fanbook will be both physical and digital. This depends on the results of the interest check.Will this fanbook be artist-centric, writer-centric or feature an even number of artists/writers?
This fanbook is aimed to be more of an art book with the inclusion of 3-4 writers and a total of 50 contributors. This number is subject to change.Will ships be allowed?
If allowed, we will only be allowing canon ships. This depends on the results of the interest check.How will contributors be compensated?
All sales will be used towards production costs and contributor copies. If the zine is able to break even, all contributors will receive a physical copy of the zine. Our goal is to be able to offer a full bundle with free shipping to contributors. Digital copies will be given to contributors regardless if break even is reached. After contributors copies, all profit made will be donated to the chosen charity yet TBD.Will mods cover cost if the fanbook does not break even?
NO, mods will not cover the cost of contributor copies. In the case that the fanbook does not break even, we will be offering contributors the chance to purchase at cheaper cost.If a contributor finishes their piece early will they be able to sell or post it?
We ask that all contributors hold their pieces for 3-4 months after all orders are shipped, so those who purchased the fanbook will get to see the beautiful works before they are released to the public.What will be the price of the fanbook?
This is a thicker more expensive fanbook, so our fanbook only bundle will start at $40. Other bundles are yet TBD.Can I apply for more than one position?
Yes, of course! However, you will only receive ONE email.
(e.g. If you apply for Merch and Page Artist and you are accepted as Page, you will only get one email regarding your accepted position).

Yes! We can ship everywhere except to Russia!.Is there a minimum age requirement for this fanbook?
Yes. All contributors must have a Discord account, so you must be at least 13+ to join the project.Will contributors be picked based on follower count?
Absolutely not! We will be selecting contributors based on their skills displayed in their application. We encourage all creators, big or small, to apply!
